2012 NFL Mock Draft Round 2

Updated- February 9th

#33) St Louis Rams- Jerel Worthy (DT Michigan State)
St Louis ranked 2nd worst in the league giving up a whopping 152.1 Yards Per Game on the Ground. Worthy is a perfect fit in the 4-3 defense right next to Chris Long.
#34) Indianapolis Colts- Dontari Poe (NT Memphis)
To complete the colossal overhaul in Indy, Chuck Pagano will be bring over the 3-4 defense. Dontari Poe is a first round talent, fills a huge need, and should be a strong building block for that defense.
#35) Minnesota Vikings- Kevin Zeitler (Guard Wisconsin)
We have Minnesota getting Matt Kalil in the 1st round, but they should not stop there when it comes to building the offensive line. They need to protect Christian Ponder, and establish a running game if Peterson is out. Kevin Zeitler is a dominant road grader who can be plugged in from Day 1 and be an immediate starter.
#36) Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Zach Brown (OLB North Carolina)
Right behind the Rams, (Or ahead, depending on how you look at it) the Bucs ranked 32nd in the league in stopping the run. They have drafted a long of young talent on the front 4, but the Linebacking core needs a ton of help. Brown is rare athlete, running a 4.4 40 at 240 Pounds, and should fit very well next to Mason Foster.
#37) Cleveland Browns- Ryan Tannehill (QB Texas A&M)
If the Browns miss out on RG3 at the top of the draft, you can bet that this pick here will be a Quarterback. I'm not a big Ryan Tannehill fan, but he is widely considered to be the clear cut #3 QB prospect, and his style fits what Cleveland does on offense.
#38) (Trade!) St Louis Rams- David Wilson (RB Virginia Tech)
I went back and forth on this pick between Wilson, and a cornerback like Gilmore or Minnifield, but in the end I think that Wilson is just a much better value. Stephen Jackson gets hurt far too often, and even when healthy they need a guy who can spell him as an outside the tackles runner.
#39) Jacksonville Jaguars- Mohamed Sanu (WR Rutgers)
Blaine Gabbert didn't set the world on fire as a rookie, but any Quarterback would have a hard time succeeding with the Receivers the Jaguars ran out there. Getting a #1 receiver is a huge priority, and if Sanu is here, they shouldn't think twice.
#40) Miami Dolphins- Nick Foles (QB Arizona)
Everybody and their mother believes Matt Flynn will be the Quarterback for the Dolphins next season, but until that becomes official, the Dolphins need to add a QB.
#41) Carolina Panthers- Jayron Hosley (CB Virginia Tech)
All Carolina has at cornerback is an aging Chris Gamble. He is still solid, but they desperately need to get some more guys in there. Hosley is a player I think is very underrated, possessing great ball skills, is a smooth athlete, and is willing in run support.
#42) Buffalo Bills- Dwayne Allen (TE Clemson)
Ryan Fitzpatrick, unfortunately for them, is now the future of the Buffalo Bills franchise, and they need to do everything they can to help him succeed. Scott Chandler is not exactly what you'd call a "Weapon" on offense, so bringing in a talent like Dwayne Allen could really add something to the offense.
#43) Kansas City Chiefs-Zebrie Sanders (OT Florida State)

Kansas City really wants to get either Riley Reiff or Jonathan Martin in the 1st, but in our 1st round mock, neither is available. This scenario here works out very well for the Chiefs. Zebrie Sanders is a 1st round talent, and a great value at pick #43. He could very well be the Left Tackle of the future for them.

#44) Seattle Seahawks- Stephon Gilmore (CB South Carolina)
Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner stepped up from out of nowhere last year for Seattle, but they still could use a talented #1 Corner like Gilmore, who is a steal at pick #44.
#45) Philadelphia Eagles (From Arizona)- Dwight Jones (WR North Carolina)
Desean Jackson is likely not returning to Philly, so they will need to replace him. Dwight Jones is a much different player from Jackson at 6 Foot 5, but gives the Eagles a Redzone, Jumpball threat which they haven't had.
#46) Dallas Cowboys- Jared Crick (DE/DT Nebraska)
Even though Dallas did a pretty good job stopping the run last year, they could still use an upgrade at the 5 Technique. Jared Crick got hurt this year, but is a 1st round talent who is a perfect fit as a 3-4 DE, with good size, and ability to penetrate.
#47) Philadelphia Eagles- Lavonte David (OLB Nebraska)
Everybody has their opinion on Lavonte David, but I think everybody could agree that the very best spot for him to go would be Philly. He is an excellent blitzer, would do very well in their Nickel Packages, and in their scheme, his size could be masked.
#48) New York Jets- Ryan Broyles (WR Oklahoma)
Santonio Holmes' standing with the Jets is up in the air, and even if he is retained, they need some help at receiver. I'm not sure if Broyles will go this high, but I definitely think he should. I don't think his A.C.L is a big deal, and there is no reason to believe he won't pick back up right where he left off.
#49) New England Patriots (From Oakland)- Ronnell Lewis (DE/OLB)
Ronnell Lewis I feel is an overlooked, and underrated player. He has an N.F.L ready body, can play any linebacker position, and is a great pass rusher. He would be very successful with the Patriots as they run so many different front 7 looks, his versatility could really make him a weapon.
#50) San Diego Chargers- Brandon Washington (Guard Miami)
Jared Gaither came in and regained his old form, playing very well for the Chargers. Outside of him though, with Marcus McNeil's status up in the air, the line is extremely sketchy. Washington played Left Tackle this year at Miami, but is a much better fit at Guard, with very good size and strength, along with that above average athleticism.
#51) Chicago Bears- Chase Minnifield (CB Virginia)
Chicago desperately needs O-Line help, but there is nobody here worth the pick. However, with Chase Minnifield still on the board, the Bears should not reach for a lineman. Minnifield is a 1st round talent, and fills a big need for Chicago.
#52) Tennessee Titans- Kendall Reyes (DT Connecticut)
Tennessee did take Jurrell Casey last year, and he played pretty well as a Rookie, but they have nobody next to him. Kendall Reyes had a huge Senior Bowl week and really boosted his stock, he is a great value here at #52.
#53) Cincinnati Bengals- Lamar Miller (RB Miami)
On draft day, somebody would no doubt trade up to get Lamar Miller as he is a legitimate 1st round talent, but I'm not going to start projecting 2nd round mocks. A lot of people project the Bengals to pick up Miller with one of their 1st round picks, but they have bigger needs to be filled there. So one way or another, there is a good chance Lamar Miller ends up a Bengal.
#54) Atlanta Falcons- Vinny Curry (DE Marshall)
John Abraham did a good job leading the team with 9.5 Sacks, but next on that list was a Linebacker with 4. They need to get someone on the other side, and Abraham is not getting any younger either.
#55) Detroit Lions- Brandon Boykin (CB Georgia)
Detroit's woes in the Secondary were heavily exploited in their Playoff loss to the Saints. They will probably need to add multiple Cornerbacks to the mix. I absolutely love Brandon Boykin, and think he is very underrated. He is shorter, but is an elite athlete, who battles and competes.
#56) Pittsburgh Steelers- Nate Potter (OT Boise State)
In the 1st round we have the Steelers passing on O-Line help for Alfonzo Dennard, but they cannot afford to go 2 rounds without taking a lineman. Roethlisberger took such a beating this year, and the Steelers have arguably the worst line in football. Nate Potter is a very underrated player who could start immediately at Right Tackle for them.
#57) Denver Broncos- Doug Martin (RB Boise State)
Denver seems committed this offseason to getting Tebow as much help as they can, and getting another guy in the backfield would be a big help. Knowshon Moreno is terrible, and who knows what you will get from McGahee next year. Martin is a physical back who can break tackles, and be reliable in pass protection. A complete player who John Elway's team would love to have.
#58) Houston Texans- Josh Chapman (NT Alabama)
Houston did a great job stopping the run this year, but their starting Nose Tackle is Shaun Cody who obviously could be upgraded. Chapman is one of the few true Nose Tackle prospects this year, as he already has experience in the 3-4, which is very rare coming out of college.
#59) New Orleans Saints- Sean Spence (OLB New Orleans Saints)
Once again, the Saints woes on defense cost them in the playoffs. Sean Spence is not a 3 Down Linebacker most likely, but with so many teams no running more 4 and 5 receiver looks, Spence would be very effective as a Nickel Linebacker who can cover.
#60) Green Bay Packers- Billy Winn (DE Boise State)
Green Bay's defense struggled mightily this season, and they need to do all they can to fix it. The Mike Neal experiment is likely over, and they desperately need help at the 5 Technique. Winn has the ideal skill set to be a top notch starter at the position.
#61) Baltimore Ravens- Harrison Smith (Safety Notre Dame)
Ed Reed is very near the end, and aside him Bernard Pollard is also aging. Harrison Smith is the #2 Safety prospect in the draft, and while he wouldn't replace Reed as a ball-hawker, Smith would add a lot of stability to the secondary.
#62) San Francisco 49ers- Markelle Martin (Safety Oklahoma State)
San Francisco is a team with very few holes, but at Safety Dashon Goldson is a free agent, and Donte Whitner is inconsistent. Markelle Martin is a very highly thought of safety who is a good value here at the end of the 2nd round.
#63) New England Patriots- Casey Hayward (CB Vanderbilt)
New England statistically ranked as one of the all time worst defenses last year, and they desperately need help at all spots. I think Hayward is a vastly underrated player, and will be a lot better player than people think.
#64) New York Giants- Bobby Wagner (ILB Utah State)
People may not know much about Bobby Wagner now, but by draft day he should be a household name. The Giants have yet to replace Antonio Pierce, and Wagner may finally be the guy to do it.
