#64) Indianapolis Colts- Josh Chapman (NT Alabama)
Indianapolis needs a space eater in the middle of their new 3-4 and Chapman would be a great player to target. His experience playing the NT spot in Alabama's 3-4 will only help him see the field right away.
#65) St Louis Rams- Chase Minnifield (CB Virginia)
Pretty much every decent cornerback the Rams had last year got hurt immediately. Chase Minnifield is a 1st round talent, but was plagued by injuries last year. He's a huge steal in the 3rd Round!
#66) Minnesota Vikings- Bobby Wagner (LB Utah State)
EJ Henderson just isn't the same linebacker that he use to be, he's also a free agent, and might not be back. Wagner has the speed and athleticism needed to play in Minnesota's Cover 2 defense.
#67) Cleveland Browns- Vinny Curry (DE Marshall)
There's about a 1% chance that Vinny Curry would actually fall this far on draft day, as a team would no doubt trade up for him. But with so many great players in this years draft, a couple guys are bound to get bumped down, to no fault of their own.
#68) Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Zach Brown (OLB North Carolina)
For a long time, we were projecting the Buccaneers to take Zach Brown in the beginning of Round 2. However, Brown's stock has taken a slide since then, but here in Round 3, he fits the aggressive, athletic linebacker the Bucs have been looking for to play with Mason Foster.
#69) Washington Redskins- A.J Jenkins (WR Illinois)
RG3 needs some guys to throw the ball to, and Pierre Garcon, and Santana Moss aren't exactly the Green Bay Packers receiving corps.
#70) Jacksonville Jaguars- Dwight "Bill" Bentley (CB Louisiana Lafayette)
|
Jacksonville was able to get Aaron Ross, and resigned Rashean Mathis, but the cornerback spot is still a liability, as there isn't much depth behind those two. Bentley has been flying up boards over the past couple months, and in many other years is on the 1st round bubble.
#71) TRADE! Baltimore Ravens- Ryan Broyles (WR Oklahoma)
This pick would be gained in our projected trade with the Bills in Round 1. We already have the Ravens taking Rueben Randle in Round 2, but Broyles presents such great value, and just seems like a Baltimore Raven type player.
#72) Miami Dolphins- Jayron Hosley (CB Virginia Tech)
Jayron Hosley failed a drug test at the NFL Combine, bumping him down from the 2nd round where he was projected to go. However, he was very apologetic about the incident, and his stock will not free-fall, like some others might.
#73) Miami Dolphins- Marvin Jones (WR California)
After the Dolphins traded away Brandon Marshall, they are left with Davone Bess as their #1 Receiver. If they take Ryan Tannehill, they need to get him some weapons, and this should be the very latest point they take a receiver.
#74) Kansas City Chiefs- Alameda Ta'Amu (DT Washington)
Kansas City is desperately in need of a Nose Tackle for their 3-4 Defense. I don't think Ta'Amu is a Nose Tackle at all, and one of the most overrated players in the draft, but many people are very high on the kid. |
#75) Seattle Seahawks- Jamell Fleming (CB Oklahoma)
Cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner came out of nowhere last year to play surprisingly well. But after those two, they really lack depth, and need to get some more talent into the mix.
#76) Houston Texans- Jeff Allen (Guard/Tackle Illinois)
This is another draft selection that I don't understand whatsoever. Every time I have watched Jeff Allen he has been extremely underwhelming, especially at the Senior Bowl. I don't think he should go until round 5 or 6, but he is being looked at as a 2nd or 3rd round pick.
#77) New York Jets- Derek Wolfe (DT/DE Cincinnati)
The Jets took Muhammad Wilkerson last year, and immediately became their best Defensive Lineman. However, they have no depth as a unit, and need to get stronger up front.
#78) San Diego Chargers- Bernard Pierce (RB Temple)
Turbin is a short compact running back that hasn't gotten a lot of attention. He has good speed and runs very hard. The Chargers will be looking for a new backup after Mike Tolbert left for Carolina.
#79) Chicago Bears- Brandon Brooks (Guard Miami- OH)
Chicago seems to be content enough with their O-Line to not take anybody early in the draft, but here in the 3rd, they would be wise to pick up some additional reinforcements. Brooks is a powerful, athletic guard, who has a chance to see the field very quickly for Chicago.
#80) Arizona Cardinals- Brian Quick (WR Appalachian State)
Behind Larry Fitzgerald, the Cardinals don't have too much depth at the Receiver position. I'm not sure that Brian Quick will help out this offense anytime soon, but he is viewed as a consensus Top 100 player, and fills a need here.
#81) Dallas Cowboys- Billy Winn (DE/DT Boise State)
Dallas has been in need of defensive ends in their 3-4 for years. Billy Winn is a good run defender who does a good job stacking and shedding blocks. Those skills should make it an easy transition to the 3-4.
#82) Tennessee Titans- Chris Givens (WR Wake Forest)
When Kenny Britt went down last year, it was a bit of a log-jam at the receiver position. Chris Givens is a receiver that people seem to really like, and many would argue he is a steal here in Round 3.
#83) Cincinnati Bengals- Robert Turbin (RB Utah State)
Cincinnati picked up Benjarvis Green-Ellis in Free Agency, but he can't be considered 100% reliable. This years RB class is so deep, that guys like Turbin would go much lower than they normally would. He'd just be too much for the Bengals to pass up.
#84) Atlanta Falcons- Dwayne Allen (TE Clemson)
Tony Gonzalez has said this will be his last year, so they need to bring somebody in there to replace him. Allen is in our opinion the #1 Tight End in the draft, making him a great selection here late in the 3rd.
#85) Detroit Lions- Brandon Washington (Guard/Tackle Miami)
This is a fantastic pick for the Lions! I view Washington as a Top 50 talent, who is downgraded because he was forced to play out of position last year. As a Guard, or maybe Right Tackle, Washington could blossom in the league. Both positions are big time needs for Detroit.
#86) Pittsburgh Steelers- Alfonzo Dennard (CB/S Nebraska)
Ike Taylor is the only functional Cornerback the Steelers have on the roster, so they would be wise to bring in reinforcements in one of the first three rounds. Despite Dennard's recent arrest, and stock dip, he's a Top 40 talent, who could pay big dividends.
#87) Denver Broncos- Brock Osweiler (QB Arizona State)
Denver obviously recognizes that Peyton Manning is closer to the end, than the beginning, and they would be wise to bring in a young QB that Peyton could groom as his eventual replacement.
#88) Philadelphia Eagles- Isaiah Pead (RB Cincinnati)
With the way Lesean McCoy runs, he is always at risk for injury, it would behoove the Eagles to add depth at the position, and not run McCoy ragged.
#89) New Orleans Saints- Brandon Taylor (Safety L.S.U)
Roman Harper will likely be suspended, not to mention he's old, and a liability in coverage. Taylor is a Safety who can play the run and the pass effectively, and could see the field rather quickly for the Saints.
#90) Green Bay Packers- Jonathan Massaquoi (DE/OLB Troy)
Jonathan Massaquoi enters the draft with only two years of college experience under his belt. He's a developmental prospect for sure, but has a very high ceiling. The Packers need some production rushing the passer besides Clay Matthews.
#91) Baltimore Ravens- Antonio Allen (Safety South Carolina)
With Ed Reed and Bernard Pollard possibly both in their final seasons, the Ravens are desperate to add talent at Safety. Unfortunately for them, this years class of Safeties is very weak, and Allen is likely the best one available here. L.S.U's Brandon Taylor could also be an option.
#92) San Francisco 49ers- Akiem Hicks (DT/DE Canada)
Akiem Hicks is one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2012 Draft. Going from L.S.U, to DirecTv, to Regina Canada, Hicks is a 300 lbs D-Lineman with excellent athleticism, who is a high upside selection.
#93) New England Patriots- Leonard Johnson (CB Iowa State)
New England ranked as one of the worst pass defenses of all time last year, and still managed to go to the Super Bowl. They need help all over the secondary.
#94) New York Giants- Terrell Manning (LB NC State)
The Giants did a great job by picking up Keith Rivers from the Bengals to fill one of their holes at Linebacker. However, he can only play one spot, and Terrell Manning could potentially play one of the other two.
#95) Oakland Raiders- Ladarius Green (TE Louisiana Lafayette)
Ladarius Green is the type of versatile athlete the Raiders covet, and actually would be a smart selection for them. He is a 6-5 TE, who excels at Flanker, using his athleticism to be a matchup nightmare.
