Tyson Alualu

Pros

Cons

Overall

Tyson Alualu is a very versatile prospect, that doesn't excel at 1 specific things but has found a way to be very effective. While at Cal he played the 5 technique in their 3-4 defense, and proved to be productive notching 13.5 sacks in the past 2 seasons at that position. He also has experience playing the 3 technique in a 4-3 defense, and when lined up there in the senior bowl, he played very well and was very difficult to block. Alualu does a great job using his hands, he quickly gets out of his stance and immediately punches his blocker, always keeps his arms extended and can drive his blocker backwards. Besides that though, he doesn't offer much else as a pass rusher, isn't overly quick, or agile, and when playing inside can be engulfed by larger lineman. Alualu is a very intriguing prospect who should be off the board in the late second to early third round.
