Geno Atkins

Pros

Cons

Overall

Geno Atkins profiles as a pass rushing defensive tackle who's best fit will be playing the 3 technique in a 4-3 defense, possibly a cover 2. Is a bit undersized, but makes up for it with his drive, athleticism, and skills as a pass rusher. Uses his hands very well to slide by blockers, has a good repertoire of pass rushing moves, plays with great pad level, and gets great leverage. Plays with a high motor, and always gives 100%, has good work ethic, and is a good guy to have in the locker room. Atkins' upside is limited though, with his size he can only do so much, as he doesn't defeat double teams, gets engulfed by bigger lineman, and isn't very good against the run. Although he probably won't develop into anything special, he should be able to add a dimension to a teams defensive line as an athletic pass rusher from the tackle position. He should get picked in the late second to early third round.
