Overall
I unlike most, have Akeem Ayers and Von Miller very closely rated as 3-4 rush linebackers. Both are very good, but Ayers is better against the run, and is the more polished all-around player. While Ayers isn't the dominant pass rusher that Miller is, Ayers exceptional at every aspect of the game, and has a lot more versatility, whereas Von Miller is not very good against the run, and is strictly a 3-4 rush linebacker. Ayers has ideal size, and has the height, strength, and athleticism, to be effective in any defensive scheme. I think Ayers would be a lot better if he was more aggressive, and "Let it Loose" so to speak. It seems like he is holding back something on the field, and I think he has the ability to be much better then he has been. Hopefully some NFL coaching will draw that ability out of him. Even as he is right now, he can start from day 1, and immediately improve a teams run defense, be a penetrator and make plays behind the line, and eventually develop into a pretty good pass rusher. Ayers will come off the board sometime in the middle of round 1.
