Pros

• Very Physical, gets a great jam on the line. Excellent in Bump-and-Run coverage
• Very fluid hips, can transition out of his back pedal very well
• Nice ball skills, good leaper, and does a good job locating the ball in the air
• Good Height
• Solid speed, can stick with receivers on "Go" Routes
• Has the size and athleticism to fit in any scheme

Cons

• Not an explosive athlete
• Doesn't plant, and drive on the ball well
• Doesn't have soft hands, will drop interceptions
• Awareness and quickness in zone coverage is below average
• Poor in run support. Needs a lot of work in tackling technique, and has trouble getting off blocks

Overall

Brandon Burton burst onto everybody's radar this year in the first game of the season where he played at an extremely high level shutting down star Pitt receiver Jonathan Baldwin. He shut down Baldwin doing what he does best, Bump-and-Run. He is very physical, gets a great jam off the line, and does a great job turning and sprinting out of his back pedal. He also can quickly read the WR's eyes and locate the football in the air to make a play. He is limited in upside, because he is just a solid athlete, as he really doesn't drive on the ball, and isn't much of a playmaker. Burton is a solid, but not special cornerback prospect. He fits in any defensive scheme and should go sometime late in round 2.
