Cam Jordan Interview

Former University of California Defensive Lineman Cameron Jordan, stopped by to talk to us about his dominant performance at the Senior Bowl, and his NFL Prospects among other things. Check it out!

Draft Geek: I'm sure you get asked about this all the time, but, your dad Steve Jordan was a terrific player in the NFL. What has he told you about how to prepare for the NFL, and has he given you any advice on the whole pre-draft process?

Cam Jordan: My dad has just always installed within me his hard work ethic, which I finally caught on to as his competitive nature and to him striving to be the best.

Draft Geek: You were arguably the most impressive, dominant player at the Senior Bowl. What was the experience like for you overall, and was there another player there that really impressed you?

Cam Jordan: The Senior Bowl was a great time for me, which allowed me to showcase my abilities, and what that I've picked up from coach Lupoi as well.

Draft Geek: You played in many different spots and schemes on the D-Line at Cal. You have a very versatile skill set, and could be a fit in any number of schemes. Where do you think you are best suited, and did the Coaches at the Senior Bowl say anything about your position?

Cam Jordan: I'm willing to play wherever the coaches want me to play. My sights are set upon the NFL, reaching it is seemingly close, but still a ways off, so wherever they see me being most prosperous I'm willing to do.

Draft Geek: No doubt you had to be a little disappointed about the end results of your Senior Season at Cal. What was the season like for you, and were you able to learn anything through the struggle?

Cam Jordan: I was happy with the way my defense played and I am proud of the D-Line and look forward to what they'll do next year. The season ended on a bad note and a losing season leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Ask anyone, I'm not a great loser so it pushes me to be a better player within my own game.

Draft Geek: What goals have you set out to achieve in the NFL?

Cam Jordan: To be the best. My goals are to amass sacks, create havoc, be a wrecking end.

Draft Geek: What do you consider to be your greatest strength on the field, and what would you most like to improve on?

Cam Jordan: My extension within the point of attack is a strong point, and I think that I'd like to improve on not losing focus of the backfield when engaged with an O-Lineman.

Draft Geek: Which current or former NFL player would you most compare yourself to?

Cam Jordan: Dockett out of Arizona he is explosive and played for Coach P, our current defensive coordinator.

Draft Geek: Have you enjoyed the whole Pre-Draft process, being under such close scrutiny?

Cam Jordan: It has been a blessing even being considered to go through this process and I'm looking forward to knowing where I'm going, what position I'll be playing, and whose defense I'll be committing myself to.

Draft Geek: What is an NFL Franchise going to be getting with Cam Jordan in terms of off the field, and personality?

Cam Jordan: I like to know my community, and if I can, help in some sort of way with youth development.

Draft Geek: Alright, I'll let you off with a couple fun ones. What are you doing on gameday to get yourself fired up?

Cam Jordan: Lol. I wake up knowing it's game day I'm fired up, and I'm takin a cold shower in the morning to cool myself down so I can keep myself composed so I don't go through the day jumpy and excited until I get on the field and unleash all I have that day.

Draft Geek: OK, final one. Which are you most looking forward to about being an NFL Player?

Cam Jordan: Playing against the best of the best. It's a dream for me, I'm at the beginning and I can't wait to see what life holds for me, and if I do my best I may be able to come out a terror, a pure beast in the backfield creating mayhem and demolishing anyone who lines up against me.

Draft Geek: Thank you so much for your time Cameron. We look forward to seeing you play at the next level, and best wishes to you at the draft!
