Overall
Chase Minnifield lost a lot of his steam this year when he missed the end of his Senior Season while having his knee scoped. I'm not sure if that is 100% the reason, but for now he is going somewhat under the radar, and I think he will end up being a much better player than people think. Really, Minnifield possesses everything you would want from a #1 Cornerback. He's got the size at 6-0, the speed at 4.4, has good instincts, and along with that, he is an elite athlete who has the potential to get a lot better. What I like most about Minnifield is his Ball Skills. He will make some catches, and plays on the ball, that I don't many receivers can make. He shows great timing on his jumps, attacks the ball at it's zenith, along with the top notch hands and concentration to come down with the ball. It's very rare to see a pass get completed on Minnifield, because either he has his guy so locked up the ball isn't throw, and when it his, he usually knocks it down. He's a guy who should average 5+ Interceptions at least, in an N.F.L Season. The knee injury at the end of the season is something to think about, but he has no real injury history, and it doesn't seem to be a big concern. He has some things to clean up from a technical standpoint, but with some development, he will be right on his way to being a very good Cornerback.
