Overall
Adrian Clayborn stock was soaring after being named MVP of the Orange Bowl during his Junior year, however, Clayborn decided to return for his senior year hoping to have in his words "a Ndamukong Suh type of year." Unfortunately, Clayborn could not build off of his impressive Junior year and struggled throughout the season. Clayborn went from 11.5 sacks to only 3.5. Some of the down year can be attributed to teams focusing on him, but he didn't seem to be in the best shape, and thought he could just dominate without working to improve. Even though Clayborn had a bad season, he has a lot of tools that NFL teams are gong to like. He is a fierce pass rusher who has possibly the best motor of anybody in this draft, and is truly violent at the line of scrimmage. Clayborn can also provide teams with versatility. He could play the left DE (strongside), or as a 5 technique defensive end in the 3-4 defense. Clayborn also provides even more flexibility to 4-3 teams because he can slide down to DT on passing downs. Clayborn has a sizeable bust possibility, but even with so much negativity around him now, he has proven himself in the past, and should go in the later half of round 1, or early 2nd round.
