Pros

Cons

Overall

Any team looking to improve their run defense, would love to pick up Devon Still, as he is possibly the best run stuffer in this years draft class. Still has tremendous size and strength, allowing him to overpower O-Lineman, and collapse the pocket. With that size and strength, he also does a great job holding up his blocker, maintaining 2 gaps, and occupying double teams, making it very difficult for teams to run at him. He also is a surprisingly good athlete for his size, possessing an explosive first step, and good quickness allowing him to knife through gaps creating penetration right off the bat. There is a lot to love about Devon Still, but he does come with a good deal of risk. He's had a couple serious injuries. Blowing out his knee once in '07, and then breaking his ankle the next year, though he did seem fully recovered from those injuries as a Junior and Senior. I also worry about his conditioning.s He seems to wear down too easily, and too often needs to come out of the game. From a football perspective, if he could be coached how to play lower, and create better leverage, he could get infinitely better as a player. He just plays too upright, and doesn't get underneath his blocker the way you would like. But that is something that can, and should be coached at the next level, so he has room to get much better. Still is an excellent fit in a 4-3, or a 3-4, considering his size, and how good he is against the run, so pretty much every team late in the 1st round will consider him.
