Pros

Cons

Overall

Danny Watkins path to the NFL is very different from most, but has worked his way into being one of the top lineman in college football and an early round draft pick. Watkins, a Canadian, played only Hockey and Rugby in High School, and didn't start playing football until '07 in JUCO. He quickly picked up the sport and dominated in his 2 years there, then transferring to Baylor as a Junior where he took over for Rams top draft pick Jason Smith at Right Tackle. Now Watkins is 26, going on 27, and ready to make the switch to Guard at the next level. Watkins combination of strength and natural athleticism is very impressive, and when you combine that with his toughness and nastiness, (Hockey Player) and you have a very nice Guard prospect. The biggest issue with Watkins is that he will be 27 as a Rookie, so as he finishes off his Rookie contract he will be getting up there in years. If not for his age he would probably be a late first round pick, but he should go off the board sometime in the middle of round 2.
