In just 2 short years at Texas Earl Thomas has proved despite his small stature that he has the talent and playmaking ability to be a factor in the N.F.L. In those 2 years at Texas Thomas recorded a whopping 10 interceptions, 5 forced fumbles, and even blocked a kick for good measure. He is just one of those guys who has a knack for knowing where the ball is going and getting there instantaneously. The best part of his game are his instincts, he diagnoses plays so fast, gets great breaks on the ball, and has the speed to get there quickly. Although it didn't present any problems in college, his size is a concern. The N.F.L is a different game, and whether his body can hold up to the rigors of a 16 game schedule is questionable. If he can stay healthy and regularly be on the field, there is little holding him back from being a ball hawk center fielder in the middle of someone's defense. Thomas is an excellent prospect and shouldn't last past the middle of the first round.
