Pros

Cons

Overall

Pretty much everybody has seen Toby Gerhart play, he is a joy to watch play and there is no doubt that he is a terrific football player and should be able to find a way to make it work at the pros. While he certainly isn't the most athletic running back, he is very good at what he does, playing with low pad level, breaking tackles and running over his opponents. He is very good running between the tackles and has great vision. If Gerhart can stay healthy which is a concern, considering his physical running style, and that fact he has already blown out one of his knee's, there is little doubt that he will be a very effective player. That being said, I don't feel he is deserving of more than a mid 3rd round pick at the highest, just because of what the expectations are of a guy picked that high, and Gerhart won't even be a full time starter. Gerhart will be a great guy to share the workload with a faster, change of pace guy, but not a guy you can count on for 250 carries a season. Gerhart could get picked anywhere from early second to mid third round, and will contribute as a rookie.
