1st Round, Pick #10: Blaine Gabbert (QB Missouri) The one big thing that Jacksonville has always lacked was a playmaking, stud quarterback. Mark Brunell was O.K, and since him they have had a bunch of slightly above average QB's in there. Jacksonville did the right thing by putting a stop to the mediocrity, and moving up a few spots to take Quarterback who is actually capable of carrying, and leading a team to victory. This is also an excellent situation for Gabbert, as he isn't quite NFL Ready, but he can sit and watch Garrard for at least the first half of the season, then step in later as a more polished QB, and make some things happen. I love the fit for both parties, and I love Jacksonville being aggressive and really making some power moves. Grade- A+ |

3rd Round, Pick #76: Will Rackley (Guard/Tackle Lehigh) I'm not a big fan of this pick at all really, as I think Rackley is a huge project player, and Jacksonville already has a pretty solid offensive line. I really would have liked to see Jacksonville improve their secondary here or add a playmaker at receiver. How they passed on Leonard Hankerson is just stunning to me. Along with guys like Quinton Carter, Johnny Patrick, and a few others, they really needed to address their secondary. Rackley is a very raw prospect, but he has a lot of upside, and has the size and athleticism to be a good player. I just don't like the selection here. Grade- D |

4th Round, Pick #144: Cecil Shorts (WR Mount Union) With Mike Sims-Walker walking out the door, that leaves only Mike Thomas as the only functional receiver on the roster. They needed to add a guy with some speed, and playmaking ability to stretch the field, and demand defensive attention. Shorts is pretty raw when it comes to route running, and really knowing the game, but he is a flat-out playmaker with great speed, and ability to hit the home-run. He will be forced into duty right away, and will also be used a lot as a kick and punt returner. Grade- B+ |

4th Round, Pick #121: Chris Prosinski (Safety Wyoming) Jacksonville did a good job by finally choosing to address the secondary here, but I just don't like the player they took. Chris Prosinski to me is a backup, and special teamer at best. He is a very average athlete who will not be able to measure up in coverage at the NFL level, and just lacks the speed to be able to be on the field on a regular basis. 1 prospect I really would have liked to see them take was West Virginia's Robert Sands who went just a few picks later. There were other guys out there at safety, and cornerback, and Prosinski certainly would have been available later on. Grade- F |
| 5th Round, Pick #147: Rod Issac (CB Middle Tennessee State) Once again, I like the position they selected, but this was another huge reach as Rod Isaac was not even considered to be a prospect who would get drafted. There are some things to like about Isaac, but there were much better players on the board, and if they really wanted, they could have found a way to get him at a later point. Isaac is 5-11, has good speed, and is a physical player, but that is about it. He is a project player who is a long ways away from being a real contributor. Grade- D |
