We have Jayron Hosley rated much higher than most Draft "Experts", and I think he is another guy that goes underrated and under appreciated. He has proved at Virginia Tech that he possesses every skill you look for in a starting NFL Cornerback. With 12 Interceptions, and 20 Passes defended over the past two years, Hosley has arguably the best ball skills, and instincts of any Corner in the draft. Hosley has the innate ability to quickly read plays, jump the route, and beat the receiver to the ball, proving to be extremely effective in Zone Coverage. He also is an underrated athlete (See Sports Science Video Below), with a great vertical leap, who also drives on the ball as quickly as anybody, and has the fluid hips to quickly change directions. He is at his best playing Zone Coverage, being a bit undersized, and cannot be relied on to jam his receiver off the line. People downgrade him because of his lack of size and elite speed, but in my opinion, his ability to jump out of the gym (38" Vertical) and knock balls away, makes up for a perceived lack of measureables. In our opinion he is the #3 Corner in the draft, and I think he will surprised a lot of people with how good he turns out to be. His stock will definitely take a hit though, because of his failed drug test at the NFL Combine. Likely bumping him down into the 3rd Round at least.
