Pros

Cons

Overall

Joseph Barksdale is a very underrated player in this years draft, and I have yet to figure out why he doesn't get the attention deserve. He has been rock solid for the Tigers for 3 straight years, and during that time has been arguably the most consistent offensive tackle in college football. Barksdale's best attribute is his football IQ, and ability to perfectly position his body to open holes as a run blocker, and wall of pass rushers while protecting. He quickly gets into a wide set, and extends his very long arms to re-route defenders. He showed excellent athleticism as a Junior, but for some reason didn't seem to be as agile as he switched over to left tackle as a Senior. Not that he was a plodder by any means, but he seemed to be nursing an injury, possibly overweight, or maybe it was the lack of LSU passing the ball, that didn't allow him to showcase his skills. Barksdale has a lot of upside, as somebody who is already very reliable and consistent, but still has room to get better. Barksdale is not flashy nor dominant, but he is very reliable and should be a starter for a long time at the next level.
