Terrific arm, can fit balls into tight windows, and throw it a mile
Great athlete, can evade pressure and get outside the pocket, tough to bring down in the open field
Can throw very well on the run
Good height, and bulk
Does a good job putting "touch" on the football
Not afraid to stand in the pocket and take a hit
Very high upside, if he can put it all together could be a great QB
Cons
Very raw, will definitely take some time
Footwork is poor, relies to heavily on his arm strength
Doesn't take care of the ball well enough, forces to many passes
Doesn't progress through his reads well, locks onto 1 receiver, or takes off running
Only 1 year of starting experience
Didn't take many snaps from under center while at West Virginia
Overall
Jarrett Brown certainly falls under the category of a "project" at the quarterback position, but there are many reasons to believe he can turn into a very effective Quarterback in the N.F.L. Jarrett Brown has great arm strength, his passes have excellent "zip" coming off his hand, can fit balls into tight spots, and can really bomb his long ball. Also is a great athlete, very mobile, can get outside the pocket and throw on the run, can run for yardage, and does a good job breaking tackles. On the downside, his footwork leaves much to be desired, he throws too many passes with just his arm. He also needs to be a better decision maker, currently forces too many passes, and does use his eyes well enough to look off defenders, often locks onto 1 receiver. Also he will have to adjust to an N.F.L style offense, much different than the run option he played in at West Virginia, needs to get accustomed to taking 3 and 5 step drops, and taking the ball out from center. Jarrett Brown showed a lot of good things in his 1 year as a starter at West Virginia, while he also has much room for improvement, he could develop into something special. Brown should get picked somewhere in the third round, to early fourth round range.
