Pros

Cons

Overall

Jurrell Casey is the prototypical 3 Technique Defensive Tackle for a 4-3 defense, playing in a 1-Gap position. Casey is a very good athlete, who plays with a great burst, and excellent quickness. He can really shoot the gap, and get after the Quarterback on passing plays, and does a good job getting off his block and tackling the ball carrier on running plays. He really is not a fit in any other scheme though, as he is a bit undersized, has short arms, does not do a good job moving his lineman backwards, and cannot control 2 gaps. So any 4-3 team looking for somebody who can exclusively rush the passer, and make plays on the ball carrier, would find great use for Casey, and he should prove to be very effective in that role.
