Overall
Jimmy Smith really flew up boards after people got a better look at him, but we came out of the combine with questions about him, not from a physical perspective, but his attitude and character concerns are now issues. As a player he received the ultimate respect in the Big-12, being targeted only 20 times in his entire senior season, and teams just never throw his way, and for good reason. I would not be surprised at all if Jimmy Smith turned out to be a perennial pro-bowler. He has every tool you want from a shutdown corner. He has the speed, the instincts, he is great in bump and run, physical, is an excellent run supporter, and on top of all that he is 6 foot 1, and has very long arms. We can't boost Smith's stock to the Patrick Peterson, Prince Amukamara level yet because we just haven't seen a whole lot of him in action, and haven't seen him when the bullets are flying. The biggest issue with him again is his character, he has had issues with drugs in college, and many people see an attitude problem with him as he comes off as an arrogant guy. Based on talent he would get picked in the early teens, but because of concerns about his character he will probably go in the late first.
