Pros

Cons

Overall

If Lawrence Wilson were about 2-3 inches taller, and about 20-25 pounds heavier, we would be talking about him as a late first round pick. He is a terrific athlete, has a great motor, and has been extremely productive at the college level. Racking up 100+ in 3 seasons, and leading the Big East in tackles the past 2. He has great instincts, a nose for the football, and gives great effort on every play. His size, and lack of strength will limit him however, as he is just not big enough to take on blockers effectively. He can be pretty easily be taken out by lineman blocking down, and will also have trouble with Tight Ends and Fullbacks. Wilson seems like an ideal fit for the type of defensive scheme that the Colts, and other Cover-2 teams run. Where you really don't have to be all that big, and can just clean up what gets through the line. He should get picked up by one of those Cover-2 teams, in the 4th round range.
