Overall
Mikel Leshoure is the closest thing this draft has to a complete running back, while most other RB's in this class specialize in one area, Leshoure can do it all. I am very tempted to move Leshoure ahead of Mark Ingram as my #1 Running Back, but I'm still digging on the both of them. Leshoure has the size, strength, and physicality that you love out of a running back, he runs through arm tackles no problem, and it usually takes 3-4 guys to bring him down. On top of him being a very physical running back, he also shows surprisingly good burst and acceleration. He gets up to top speed quickly, and explodes through the first line of defense, and will pick up a lot of 20+ yard carries for a guy who only runs a 4.56 40. That 40 time is very deceiving as he has very good game speed, and is not slow by any means. Leshoure needs to do a better job settling for 3-4 yard carries instead of trying to turn every carry into a 40 yard gain. Also he did have a few run-ins at Illinois, and hopefully they don't manifest themselves in the pros. Leshoure is a very safe pick, who will have a healthy, productive career in the NFL.
