Pros

Cons

Overall

I think Corey Liuget is a very underrated player who doesn't really get the attention he deserves for whatever reason. He has all the tools to be an top notch penetrating defensive tackle. He has excellent quickness and athleticism for a 300 pound man, and uses his athleticism, to shoot the gap, penetrate, and make plays in the backfield. One of Liuget's best qualities is his hand use, he never stops fighting with his hands, his hand punch can knock blockers backwards, and he is also very strategic to get blockers moving one way, and then run right by the other way. He has long arms, and does a good job not getting engaged, allowing himself room to make plays. One of the most common weaknesses in college defensive lineman is present with Liuget, he plays too straight up, and often can be walled out of plays. A simple pad level adjustment, can be easily coached, and would immediately eliminate many of his problems. He also needs to do a better job in gap integrity, and not being out of position. Liuget is a 3 Technique, 1-Gap, pass rushing defensive tackle with a lot of potential, and with some simple coaching, he really could be a good one at the next level.
