Major Wright

Pros

Cons

Overall

Major Wright is one of the more overrated players in this years draft, as his numbers, and highlight reel plays, attract him more attention than he deserves. While Wright is not a terrible prospect by any means, he has a ways to go to be a reliable player, and he will get picked earlier than he should. Major Wright is a very physical safety, who is good for a couple bell ringers a game, he is very reliable in run support, sure tackler, and is very good in pursuit. Wright really loses some steam with his major struggles in man coverage, he looks very stiff coming out of his back pedal, takes bad angles to the football, and is often out of position, and is late to where he needs to be. Wright will need some coaching to iron out his technique issues, but if he is able to do so, he has all the talent and physical tools to be a ball-hawking safety in the N.F.L. Wright should get picked in the late second to early third round.
