Pros

Cons

Overall

I absolutely love Ryan Mallett as a quarterback prospect, and while many feel he is overrated, I completely disagree and am fully confident that he will succeed at the next level. Mallett will step into the NFL and immediately have one of the top 3 arms in the league. Obviously I am aware that arm strength is not everything, but he can make some throws that a very limited amount of NFL QB's can make. He has the talent to be a perennial pro-bowler, and the only thing that is holding him back, is his meltdowns in pressure situations. Twice this year in pressure situations in critical games Mallett has turned the ball over and lost the game for his team. While these interceptions are very concerning, I feel that him handling pressure is something he will gain with a little more experience. I have done a lot of digging on Mallett's "so-called" character concerns, and attitude problems, but I have found that he has vastly matured every year in college, and I see no reason why that maturation process wail stop. Mallett has special talent, and there is no limit to his potential, and with some good coaching and another step in his maturation process, I firmly believe he will be a great NFL Quarterback.
