Overall
Michael Floyd is a part of the new class of receivers coming into today’s game. Standing 6’3 220, Floyd will have a lot of teams hoping he is the next Hakeem Nicks, Brandon Marshall type player. Floyd has great leaping ability to go along with his size, making him a red zone monster. We saw great improvement from Floyd from his first 3 years to his Senior year. As a Route Runner, hands catcher, and from a maturity standpoint. At times this season it seemed any prayer Tommy Rees threw up, Floyd was sure to come down with it. While Floyd has plenty of positives, he has some negatives teams should be weary of. The biggest concern people have is about his speed. While he isn't a burner, his speed is good but not great, and we feel it is more than adequate to get down the field and create separation. Teams will also have to do their homework on him when it comes to his character. Floyd has had several alcohol related run-ins with the law including a DUI this past March in which he was kicked off the team for (but was later re-instated a few months later). Floyd does come with some risk, but he has produced at a high level consistently, and as he matures, there is no reason to believe he can't be a #1 NFL Wideout. He should not fall out of the top 20.
