Round 1- Malik Hooker S Ohio State

(IF he declares for the draft) The Bears are desperate for playmakers on the defensive side. There is no better closer in the secondary than Malik Hooker and he can truly turn into something special. He is raw, but has gotten comparisons to ed reed and his gameplay shows he can be elite. The Bears should take him with the 3rd pick.

Round 2- Sidney Jones IV CB Washington

The Bears here continue to add top talent to their deleted secondary. Porter looks old, fuller will be gone after the year, and although they have promising young players they are very unproven and have shown major inconsistencies this year. Jones is a great athlete and could start day 1 for the bears.

Round 2 (TRADE) – The Bears have 2 4th round picks and an early 3rd round pick, I expect them to move back into the second round and snag a quarterback.

Round 2- Patrick Mahomes QB Texas Tech

A true playmaker, Mahomes was a stud in college. He drops because of the system he played in and some inconsistencies in his play. He needs time to develop, and I expect the Bears to bring back Hoyer to start and develop a young QB like mahomes.

I am a die hard Bears fan – I don’t know about doubling up with the Secondary.  Maybe an OJ Howard in the 2nd?  I have been talking to numerous other Bears faithful – what about Jabril Peppers?

I appreciate the response. I am a die hard Bears fan as well. After watching every game this season it is evident to me, especially after the last game against the packers that the bears are in desperate need of help in the secondary. There is no other place that needs more help than their secondary (besides quarterback). I think doubling down can help solve that problem. The bears have a solid front 7 and it should only get better as the players start to mature more and hopefully Travathen can stay healthy. Regarding peppers, i have heard great things about him and i have watched him play and he is electrifying. The issue i have with him and i am nitpicking is the fact he has 1 career INT. This bears defense needs a guy like earl thomas/ed reed roaming centerfield in their defense. I have read about hooker a lot and his comparisons are to ed reed. He is raw, but i think he is a great fit and can be an outstanding player. I would be happy with any safety (peppers hooker adams) and I just hope they can address the secondary. Go bears.

Also i really like howard but I don’t know about taking him in the 2nd with more glaring needs. Miller was really solid before he got hurt and i think they could go TE later in the draft

Granted there are a few factors that come into play with drafting Howard (TE), first IF he drops that far, 2nd I would be ALL for picking up a TE since imo it is a NEED considering Miller cannot stay healthy (has he ever been able to stay on the field a complete season?).  I do agree with you that the secondary needs to be rebuilt & upgraded in any & all areas!

Very good point with Millers health. This TE draft is pretty deep and I think they could grab a guy in the 3rd/4th with one of the two picks if they don’t trade up. If howard is there in round 2 I wouldn’t be against taking him at all. What are your thoughts on resigning Alshon? Personally I believe whatever QB is going to be playing for the bears they need alshon, and i hope they bring him back since they will have plenty of money to allocate to other areas even if they resign him.

I think they should dump him!!  He can’t stay healthy, he does not seem to work hard, the throws out the 1st pitch @ Wrigley but can’t show up to OTA’s?  I think they could use the MONEY to help reinforce the Secondary maybe sign a FA WR that could fill in to play the Slot since Eddie Royal-pain-in the butt can’t stay healthy!  Granted he CAN make plays, but he’s hurt (or suspended) most of the time anyway – hence let him go!!  At least that’s my opinion.
