Stephen Paea makes his living by using his brute strength and power to collapse the pocket and get blockers moving backwards. He also has very good quickness and agility, he can shoot the gap, and move well in space. Paea also has a lot of upside and room to grow, his strength and athleticism give him a great base to work with, but he hasn't played football for long, and is very raw when it comes to hand use and footwork. With good coaching and development though, he could be a dominant force. He is a bit undersized, so even though he has the ability to control multiple gaps he is not a fit as a nose tackle in a 3-4, but he would be an excellent 2 technique in a 4-3 defense. He could step in and immediately bolster a teams from 4, he is a very safe pick who has almost 0 chance of being a bust, and down the road could be a very productive player in the league. With his recent performance at the combine he is a likely late first round pick.
