Reshad Jones

Pros

Cons

Overall

Reshad Jones would have been better served returning for his senior season, as he is not NFL ready, but he does have many appealing attributes and has the potential to be a punishing safety at the next level. What really stands out about Reshad Jones, and makes people drool over him is his knack for the big hit, as you can see in the videos below, Jones is not shy about throwing his body around, and drops the bomb on anybody running across the middle. He also offers very good run support, reliable tackler, and does a good job stepping into the box and cleaning up what gets past the first 2 levels. On the flipside, he isn't very fast, and is often overmatched in man coverage, doesn't have the foot speed, or agility to keep up with the explosive receivers the NFL has to offer. Jones is not NFL ready, but if coached up, he should settle into a nice role as a heavy hitting strong safety, possibly in a cover 2. Should get picked somewhere in round 3.
