Pros

Cons

Overall

Unlike our stance on Cam Newton from last year (Which we still are not backing down from), we absolutely love mobile QB prospect RG3. Even though he is a fantastic athlete and runner, he does not have a Run-First mentality, and is not a system quarterback. Unlike most athletic QB prospects that come out, RG3 is surprisingly polished as a passer. Besides having a great arm, he shows excellent footwork, a smooth throwing motion with a quick release, good pocket presence, while doing a great job reading defenses. He shows great accuracy on all his throws, hitting his receivers in stride, and throws a rather prisine deep ball. He also has every intangible you could possibly want. Is a good character guy, smart, is a leader, hard worker, and rises to the occasion rather than crumbling under pressure. There are a few things though that concern us about Griffin. I worry that he will get hurt. He's already tore an A.C.L, and with his style of frame, and rather slender frame, the potential is there for a serious injury. RG3 will take time to develop, and I personally wouldn't throw him into the fire right away. However, he is definitely smart enough to learn an NFL offense, and has the work ethic to quickly improve. Robert Griffin is exactly the type of guy you would want to turn the keys of your franchise over to, and trust him to lead a team. I expect either Cleveland, Washington, or Miami to trade up to the #2 pick to get him.
