Overall
If it wasn't for a hamstring injury we could be talking about Ryan Williams being the top back in this years draft. However, between a hamstring injury that lingered throughout the entire season, and a three back rotation, Williams' 2010 season was not a memorable one, not being able to reach the 500 yard mark, after reaching the 1,600 yard mark as a Freshman. Despite such a disappointing year, Williams entered the draft, which came as a surprise to many. But Williams' abilities will definitely make him a hot commodity come draft day. You don't see many running backs with his size that are able to run with power and still be elusive. Ryan Williams can fit into any scheme, he can run in a power scheme, he can run in a one cut zone scheme, and also can be effectively used in space. Teams may be wary of Williams because they may see his Freshman season as a fluke, and also running backs are not as highly valued in the draft as they used to be. Williams could come off the board in the late 1st round if someone is really desperate for a back, but more than likely he'll go somewhere in the early to mid 2nd round. We believe that Williams is much closer to what we saw as a Freshman, than what we saw as a Sophomore, and somebody will be getting a good value with him.
