Great route runner, very quick in and out of cuts, and deceptive double moves
Great hands, rarely drops passes, and can catch the ball in traffic
Faster than his 40 time would indicate, is quicker than he is fast
Great out of the slot, very quick, and can find soft spots in zone
Tough to bring down in the open field, very shifty
Great punt and kick returner
Very experienced, can contribute as a rookie
Cons
Isn't not a #1 receiver by any means
Doesn't have great speed, and isn't much of a deep threat
Undersized at only 5-11
Injury prone, serious knee injury as a Freshman, and hamstring injury as a Sophomore
Has a tough time beating press coverage at the line
Overall
Jordan Shipley is the prototypical slot receiver, very comparable to a Wes Welker, Austin Collie type player. Can work the middle of the field, excellent route runner, great hands, and just finds a way to get open. Shipley also offers added value as a very effective and productive return man, while he isn't a burner, he is tough to tackle, very quick and shifty, and is elusive in the open field. Shipley's upside is limited though, he is what he is, an effective slot receiver and nothing more. He will make an impact as a rookie, is not a risky pick at all, and should have a long productive career as a role player. Shipley could get picked anywhere from the third, to the fifth round.
