Overall
Immediately the first thing that jumps out at me when I watch Quan Sturdivant play is that this guy could be so much better if he would play with better pad level. I know it sounds nerdy, but it makes a huge difference. I love Sturdivant's football IQ and awareness on the field, he is always in great position, but he misses a good deal of tackle because he plays too straight up. Pad Level is something that should be easy for him to improve on, and if he does, I think Sturdivant could be an elite NFL Linebacker. I think his best fit would be in a 3-4 defense playing inside, but he could also play inside in a 4-3, or strong side in a 4-3. I would like to see him do a better job as a pass rusher to be effective as a 4-3 OLB, as he doesn't do a good job at the POA (Pad Level) and doesn't really have much technique as a pass rusher. If Sturdivant can make a few adjustments to his game, he has the ability to be a very productive starter for a long time in this league.
