I am a big Syd'Quan Thompson fan and feel he is undervalued by most. Certainly Thompson does not have the extraordinary athleticism and potential that some of the other corners in this class have, but he is one of the more reliable, smart, and N.F.L ready cornerbacks that this draft has to offer. It's hard not to love his intangibles, has started all 52 games in his 4 year career at Cal, despite his size he does a great job breaking up passes, knocking away 10 in each of the past 3 seasons, is aggressive in run support and is a good tackler, his technique is solid, and doesn't get burned often. On the downside he does not match up well with the physical beasts that the N.F.L has to offer, he just isn't tall or fast enough. Thompson won't be an elite perennial pro-bowler, but I am confident he will have a long and healthy career as a reliable #2 starter in the N.F.L. Thompson could get picked anywhere from round 3, to round 5.
