Tim Tebow

Pros

Cons

Overall

Everybody pretty well knows the deal with Tim Tebow, hard worker, passionate about the game, very productive in stats and winning games in college, but as a passer, leaves much to be desired. Put up gaudy stats in Florida's run-option offense, and the threat of Tebow running opened up some easy passing lanes, Tebow won't be able to run away from N.F.L players so he will have to rely much more heavily on his pocket passing, which has never been a strength of his, and is a huge question mark. He is changing his throwing motion from the one he used in college, if he can prove that it works for him, that will be a major step in his development, but until he does so, it is still a weakness of his. Also will have to adjust to an N.F.L playbook, must learn to read defenses, move through his progressions, and anticipate throws. Also must improve his footwork, which was atrocious in college and led to many poorly located passes, and wobbly throws. Everything besides Tebow as a thrower is great, his personality and leadership have been well documented, and he shows the ability, and smarts to be able to adapt to the N.F.L. In all reality, as a passer, Tebow has proven nothing, and until we see something in an actual game to dictate otherwise, we would not suggest an early round pick on the guy. High ceiling, but could easily flop. Could go anywhere from late first round, to early third round.
