Thaddeus Gibson is a prospect who has the ideal physical attributes that you would want from a 3-4 rush linebacker, and has a lot of potential, but is very raw, and not ready to play at the next level. Gibson is a terrific athlete and a workout warrior, one of the strongest linebackers in the draft, and is very fast, running a 40 time somewhere in the 4.7 range. Has good size, can match up well in coverage, and if he develops some pass rushing moves there is little preventing him from being a fierce pass rusher at the next level. As mentioned although he is a terrific athlete, offers little as a pass rusher, he either tries to just run around the line or just straight through the line, which was not overly effective in college and certainly won't be successful at the next level, really needs to improve his hand use. Also Gibson's deficiencies against the run, make him only a fit in a 3-4 defense, he played on the line in college, but doesn't have the height or pass rushing ability to be a good fit in the pros. Gibson won't make much of an impact as a rookie, but is a developmental player with a ton of potential. Should get picked in the second or third round range.
