2019 Baltimore Ravens Team Needs

As Free Agency has began to slow down it is the perfect time to take a look at the team needs for each team as we get closer to the 2019 NFL Draft. Listed below are the Baltimore Ravens Team Needs as they head into the 2019 NFL Draft listed in order of importance.

Baltimore Ravens Team Needs

Interior Offensive Line

When asked how the Ravens could build around the offense around Lamar Jackson, Offensive Coordinator Greg Roman mentioned they need a “strong powerful offensive line.” Baltimore is set at tackle, but need to turn to the interior that got abused in the playoffs against the Chargers. Baltimore could get aggressive and take one of the top centers in the first round but shouldn’t wait past day two.

Wide Receiver

Other than building up the offensive line to help out Lamar Jackson the Ravens need to give him weapons on the outside as both Michael Crabtree and John Brown are gone. Baltimore could look to add a speed receiver to work off play action, but Jackson is more accurate throwing over the middle, so adding a bigger contested catcher could be a better fit.

Inside Linebacker

The inside linebacker position has been an identity for the Ravens with Ray Lewis, Bart Scott and most recently CJ Mosley. With Mosley signing with the Jets the Ravens need to find the next great one. Baltimore is likely out of the market for the top two guys and may have to look towards finding an upside prospect on day two.

Outside Linebacker

Stalwart pass rusher Terrell Suggs has packed his bags and moved back home to Arizona leaving along with Za’Darius Smith signing with the Packers leaves a huge void on the edge. Baltimore drafted Tim Williams, Matt Judon and Tyus Bowser the past couple of years yet neither have them have turned into a premier pass rusher.

Running Back

Continuing the trend of building the offense around Lamar Jackson, the Ravens need a strong running game. Signing Mark Ingram was a good start as he gives Baltimore a workhorse back to pair with the bruising Gus Edwards. Kenneth Dixon has been unreliable and should lead the Ravens to targeting a speed back on early day three to compliment Ingram and Edwards.
