As Free Agency has began to slow down it is the perfect time to take a look at the team needs for each team as we get closer to the 2019 NFL Draft. Listed below are the Chicago Bears Team Needs as they head into the 2019 NFL Draft listed in order of importance.
Chicago Bears Team Needs
With the loss of Adrian Amos to rival Green Bay in free agency the Bears now have a glaring hole opposite All-Pro safety Eddie Jackson. Amos was the linchpin of their secondary and will be hard to replace both on the field and in the film room. With no suitable in-house replacement available the Bears will need to bring in a safety through either the draft or free agency.
The corner position was a huge strength last season for the Bears thanks to career years by both Kyle Fuller and slot man Bryce Callahan. The position though will need to be addressed this off season with Bryce Callahan likely on the move through free agency and Prince Amukamara set to turn 30 before the season starts. The Bears could stand to add a versatile corner to round out their secondary.
On paper the Bears have an impressive looking wide receiver group with the likes of Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel and Anthony Miller. The depth after those three is pretty slim with Josh Bellamy and former 1st round pick Kevin White set to hit the open market. Adding another weapon to help out Mitchell Trubisky should be a top priority.
The Bears are set with Khalil Mack and Leonard Floyd as their primary pass rushers. In a league where you can never have too many pass rushers the Bears could use a third pass rusher especially if Aaron Lynch leaves in free agency.
The Bears have a pretty strong duo at running back already in Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen. Howard though is entering the last year of his contract and has been the center of trade rumors this off season. The Bears might want to target a running back at some point in the draft if they plan on moving/move on from Howard.
