As Free Agency has began to slow down it is the perfect time to take a look at the team needs for each team as we get closer to the 2019 NFL Draft. Listed below are the Philadelphia Eagles Team Needs as they head into the 2019 NFL Draft listed in order of importance.
Philadelphia Eagles Team Needs
After acquiring Malik Jackson, the Eagles filled one of the bigger holes on their roster. Their current RB rotation consists of a group of role players, lacking a bell cow that they can rely on to carry the bulk of the workload. Josh Jacobs would make a lot of sense for them in the 1st round and would give them a well-rounded, every down back.
With an aging Jason Peters returning on a one-year deal, the Eagles could look to invest in a left tackle of the future. Whether they wind up looking for a top prospect in the first round or try to find value on day two, there are plenty of solid tackle prospects available this year.
Finding a quality CB is vital for the Eagles. Jalen Mills has struggled massively as a starter and Ronald Darby will only be on a one-year deal. Finding a long-term starter on the boundary is a must for the Eagles. Deandre Baker and Byron Murphy would be good picks if they are on the board in round 1.
I wouldn’t expect to invest an early pick at LB but they should look to address their depth at the position through the draft. Perhaps a late day two or early day three priority for them. The depth at LB in this class isn’t great but someone like Drue Tranquill or Blake Cashman would give them a good athlete who can run and cover at the position.
Adding another edge rusher to their rotation would make sense for a team that likes to have depth at the position. The return on Derek Barnett has so far been uninspiring, so adding another player at the position who can push him would make sense. If there is sufficient value, I would not be surprised if the Eagles take edge with their first pick.
