2019 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Team Needs

As Free Agency has began to slow down it is the perfect time to take a look at the team needs for each team as we get closer to the 2019 NFL Draft. Listed below are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Team Needs as they head into the 2019 NFL Draft listed in order of importance.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Team Needs

Running Back

Ronald Jones was drafted last year in the second round as the next lead rusher for the Bucs. Unfortunately, the guy has been a major disappointment so far due to his inability to get on the field over the likes of Peyton Barber. Finding more competition in the backfield will either push Jones to find his role or push him out of the way altogether. A player like Justice Hill early on day three would make a lot of sense.

Losing Kwon Alexander leaves a big hole for the front office to fill. Even with Deone Buccannon brought in through free agency, finding a three down stud linebacker to lead their new defense is a priority. Speed and the ability to play sideline to sideline luckily are traits both Devin White and Devin Bush possess on day one.

Defensive Line

The switch of a new defensive front is going to shift how this once promising group of Gerald McCoy, Jason Pierre-Paul, Noah Spence and Carl Nassib will be used. Finding the correct pieces to pair with last years top pick Vita Vea will be a priority to get this unit firing on all cylinders, plus neither of McCoy or Pierre-Paul should be on the roster in 2020.

Wide Receiver

Losing Adam Humphries is a major blow to the receiving corps, as he is one of the most underrated players in the league. Throw in the trade of Desean Jackson and the depth behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin is suspicious. Adding a mid-round prospect to compete for that third spot will go along to righting this offense.

Offensive Line

Resigning Donovan Smith was a decent start to shoring up a line that has been a work in progress for some time now. Looking to bring in competition at tackle, guard and center is paramount to creating a strength of the team. Trying to build an offensive identity under Bruce Arians starts in the trenches, and the front office knows it.
