LB Haason Reddick, 6’1’’ 237 Temple
What He Does Well:
Explosive athlete with a knack for making big plays. Is a twitchy athlete who is sudden in all his movements, changes directions with ease. Gets to full speed quickly and is an excellent closer. Excellent blitzer, uses his quickness and speed to blow by tackles. Slippery player who can shoot gaps and creases making him a natural against the run. Possesses great range and a motor in pursuit. Has the athletic ability to stick with backs and tight ends in coverage.
Where He Needs Work:
Is a little on the small size, could struggle to cover taller tight ends. Play strength is just ok, struggles when engaged with linemen who can neutralize his speed and quickness. Could struggle to set the edge as a 3-4 outside linebacker. Relies on athleticism when rushing the passer, needs to develop some alternate pass rush moves. Misses a few too many tackles.
Few players have upped their stock since the end of the season as much as Reddick who had an awesome showing at the senior bowl and followed that up with a great combine. Reddick is far from a workout warrior though as his tape backs up his reputation as an impact player on defense. Reddick’s versatility will make him a chess piece on defense as he projects well as a 3-4 ILB, 4-3 WLB and a 3-4 rush OLB. His athleticism and motor will make him a hot commodity in the upcoming draft and I fully expect him to be drafted in the top 20 maybe even the top 15 picks of the upcoming draft.
