CB Marshon Lattimore, 6’0’’ 193 Ohio State
What He Does Well:
Top notch athlete with killer speed. Excellent recovery ability thanks to speed. One of the smoothest athletes in the entire draft, flips his hips and transitions with great fluidity. Has a deep and quick backpedal. Plays with great positioning, will use the sidelines to seal off receivers and is always in their back pocket. Possesses excellent ball skills, Made several interceptions that leave you wondering how he caught that. Solid tackler who can hold up against the run.
Where He Needs Work:
Still raw, only one year of starting experience at Ohio State. Could experience some growing pains in the NFL as he continues to learn the position. Faced less than elite talent in the Big 10. Could struggle with bigger physical receivers at the next level due to lack of ideal length and bulk. Speed does not always show up on tape. Has had issues with his hamstring that required surgery.
The 2017 NFL draft is chalked full of cornerback talent and Marshon Lattimore is widely considered to be the best of the group. Possessing unteachable speed and excellent ball skills Lattimore is the kind of corner that every team dreams of having. A potential future lock down corner Lattimore should not have to wait long to hear his name called in the draft. Expect him to go in the top 10 and have a long successful career in the NFL.
