Week 4 College Football Viewing Guide

A tradition at NFL Draft Geek is to provide the readers with a guide to the perfect College Football Viewing experience. In addition to our College Football Scouting Guide we have your Saturday Scouting covered. Listed below are the top games at each time slot for games Thursday through Sunday and a brief explanation why you should watch that game.

Early Game

North Carolina State Wolfpack vs #12 Florida State Seminoles at 11:00 CST on ABC -or- ESPN2

Why I should Watch: A big time match up in the Atlantic division of the ACC that has plenty of NFL Draft prospects on both rosters. North Carolina State brings in one of the best defensive lines in the nation with both Bradley Chubb (#6 Edge) and Kentavius Street (#10 Edge) at defensive end along with DT BJ Hill (#15 DL) who will look to control a young Seminole offensive line. However what should get your attention is how will Wolfpack QB Ryan Finley (#7 QB) do throwing the ball against a very talented Florida State secondary with CB Tavarus McFadden (#1 CB) and Derwin James (#1 S) looking to shut down the Wolfpack receivers. This could be a big game for Finley.

Afternoon Game

#16 TCU Horned Frogs at #6 Oklahoma State Cowboys at 2:30 CST on ESPN

Why I should Watch: This early season game could help decide who wins the Big 12 Conference. While Oklahoma State looks unstoppable on offense and a legit playoff contender, TCU is a better team than most expected and have been known to get some big upset wins. Oklahoma State’s QB/WR duo of Mason Rudolph (#8 QB) and James Washington (#11 WR) are fun to watch, but keep an eye on TCU’s S/CB Nick Orr (#9 S) who is one of my favorite players in this draft class.

Prime Time Game

#17 Mississippi State Bulldogs at #11 Georgia Bulldogs at 6:00 CST on ESPN

Why I should Watch: With Mississippi State’s win over LSU it puts them into the drivers seat as they look to keep their momentum going. But they’ll face off against an undefeated Georgia team that is looking to win the SEC East. Georgia has two quality running backs in Nick Chubb (#4 RB) and Sony Michel it’s the other side of the ball that is what you should watch. Mississippi State’s QB Nick FitzgerraldĀ  (#10 QB) is quickly rising up draft boards and he’ll be looking to prove last week’s strong performance against LSU wasn’t a fluke. But this Georgia defense is no slouch with at least 8 draftable defenders.

Late Game

#7 Washington Huskies at Colorado Buffaloes at 9:00 CST on FS1

Why I should Watch: Pac 12 at dark has given us some must see match ups in the past, and this game could be no different. Washington comes into this game with yet another loaded team against a Colorado program that lost most of it’s talent but have still started out 3-0 and look like they’re not going anywhere. Colorado has been strong on defense the past could of years so it will be interesting to see how this Buffalo defense can shut down the Huskies who have two draftable RBs along with LT Trey Adams (#4 OT) and WR Dante Pettis.
