Yodny Cajuste NFL Draft Profile
Height: Weight: School: West Virginia
Great kick slide and ability to protect the edge.
Good punch which he uses to slow down pass rush.
Good awareness to pick up stunts and blitz.
Fires out of his stance.
Fairly fluid. Can make blocks in space.
Positions himself very well to deal off defenders and create a running lane.
Very good size, 6’6 and 320 lbs.
Keeps good leverage.
Has some nastiness to him that you like to see from offensive linemen.
Not as strong as you’d expect for a guy of his size.
Doesn’t always drive his feet as well as he could.
Cajuste is a fantastic pass blocker, perhaps the best in this class. He moves so easily and can mirror even the fastest and most bendy rushers that he faces. At the same time he’s got the size to body up with power rushers. As a run blocker he is good, but could be stronger. Despite his size he is probably a better fit for a zone blocking scheme. Athletic and fluid so he can get to the second level and create running lanes.
Has an injury history. Tore his ACL in 2016 and has had his share of bumps and bruises along the way.
Cajuste can be a plug and play left tackle in the NFL. He will be a first round pick and I’d be surprised if he fell out of the top sixteen. If he can stay healthy I expect multiple pro bowls over time.
